There are over 180 animals in the shelter, these include dogs, cats ponies, birds, donkeys, cattle, etc.
Some of the animals may get released into the wild or adopted (e.g. a recently rescued young barn owl that was wounded will be released into the wild when he recovers.) but most the animals permanently live in the shelter for various reasons, one being the fact that many of them are too old to be put up for adoption.
Many of the animals have adverse health problems that make caring for them time consuming and expensive.
All the animals in the shelter were rescued from bad situations, some of the animals were given up by their owners, some of them were stray, some were hit-and run and some even abandoned to die on the streets
